Now, now, calm down, you know you lie and probably to many people. Some of you do nothing else. Any God followers are lying everytime you mention religion as are followers of any religion.
Did you lie at your marriage vows or did you mean them and kept thjem ever since. Bet you haven't. You see even the words "Love, honour and cherish" are not things a human being is capable of doing 24/7 forever. So that is a lie.
Any time you have an argument you will lie to try and prove your point. I know, so did I. I used to do all that but I stopped as it was nasty. Mean and hurtful.
You cannot lie to me and believe you got away with it. Who would you be fooling at most? Yourself of course. Lying to yourself, or ourselves is the worst lie of all as we pretend, to ourselves that we are better people than we actually are.
Try being honest with yourself. Bet you can't. So use a therapist and insist they call you on your lies. They are quite easy to pick actually. Body movements, other habits and much more tell the listener you are lying. The only one who can't tell is YOU.
Do you understand that? Geez, I've know some real liars in my life. Every time a certain thing comes up you can see their eyes searching upward for an answer, but they are also trying to remember what they have told you before.
There is another category of lies which is very much human nature. That is telling our kids about Santa, the Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and so on. Those are used to encourage children to have hope and think there really is magic in this world. Of course, there isn't but adults can be just as easily fooled if that's what you want to do.
People who lie to me often and give different stories I ask, "What happened to these explanations you gave me?" And I list them. They'll say something really bright, like "Oh yeah, remembered them did you? Yes, I did lie those times but this is the real truth now".
Oh, right, so now they are telling you they admit to lying but now is the real truth. These are people you never believe and don't want in your life.
You are all wonderful, friendly and nice people. There you go. I lied for you. Aren't I kind as you are not those things at all are you?
And the big question.
WHY do you lie.
I've found there are two main categories. One is to pretend they are more than they are or know more than they do. And the other group do it to deceive you so they can take advantage of you and perhaps take things that are yours. A good example is used car sales people. They lie about a car to gain more money than it is worth, and you know it too don't you? Yet, you still buy. Pretty dumb ainj'y ya?
