Generally I would say NO in a big way except, perhaps, in regard to certain types of music.
On general life issues I could say I would not even consider quoting him on any topic in relation to humans as a whole.
Sure, U2 have made some great songs, some or even many, of which I really like. "With or without you" is one such. It is the song that the show "Friends" used about the love life, or not of Ross and Racheal. Every time I hear it I picture Rachael huddled up in misery pining for Ross but equally hating him for what he did (WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!). That line "we were on a break" was so funny and has been used in that show many times, always makes me laugh.
But I digress.
What I wrote this post for is to bring to your attention words of wisdon that BONO has spoken and only recently too. In regard to the 4th version of "Do they know it's Xmas" song, BONO said this :
"If all those people who attend G8, now G20, etc. type meetings actually did what they decided they must do then we wouldn't be here doing a 4th version of this song."
Incidentally the 4th version raised over $2 million in the first few minutes of release and we DO KNOW the money WILL go towards fighting Ebola.
We've just had the G20 here in my home city and it was unbearable how our politicians brown nosed to those World Leaders. Really sickening. Their resolutions would solve most of the world's problems if they all followed through but they never do and never will, as BONO observed.
He spoke for all of us by saying that. It is a truism of what happens with all committees and group meetings. Agreement, but no action.
