Don't know what you have heard but the word is a high percentage of Coalition backbenchers describe Abbott's leadership as "terminal" and the government itself as "toxic".
Clearly they are first on the chopping block in an election swing but they are very nervous. They know Abbott is electoral poison and can't see him recovering. A one term wonder at best is their attitude.
Last week's attack on Medicare and the poor was NOT unanimous in Cabinet. In fact it was SOLELY Abbott's "idea" and it was strongly argued against by the Treasurer and others.
Abbott just does not have a clue about the damage he has done and is doing.
As well, in an interview yesterday Peter Dutton, new Immigration Monster, refused to answer questions about the riot at Manus Island. Insisting the inmates had "weapons" but flatly refused to describe what sort of weapons. One suspects sticks.
He actually ignored that question several times until the journalist kept asking it. He made it seem like it was a State secret, inferring the "weapons" were more than they were.
Wake up Dutton. Where would they get "weapons" other than sticks etc. You must be a complete moron to think that line would fly. But we knew that about you already didn't we?
