Probably many of you have never even heard of Australia and I like it that way. It's actually huge but we all live on the coasts as it's desert inside, OK.Fair choice I would think, Yes?
We have such diverse country here, from snow country to the steaming tropics and tons of sand dune deserts.
You probably will know of Ayers Rock. Some call it Yuluru for now as we rented it to the local tribe there. For a hundred years. But it's still named Ayers Rock regardless of what they call it.
If you glance at my picture above you'll see parts of two huge boulders which are part of the Devil's Marbles rock formation, north of Alice Springs and south of Tennant Creek. Tennant Creek is one of those places referred to when someone tells you, "No, I'm not in hell but I can see it from here." What they can see is Tennant Creek ( no Creek there).
The Alice is a different story 25,000 people and a floating tourist population of probably about 10,000 depending on the season. I grew up there and that's where my heart belongs.
The Marbles, being between the two I passed about 30 times in travel from Darwin to Alice and beyond. I always stop there as it is magnificent and spectacular. Same material as Ayers Rock too, as you can see. As is the desert, red sand. Makes a fantastically beautiful dust storm when the big winds come. You can see it coming as it creeps over the horizon and then half the sky is red and then all. And you can't see for shit. Not a time to be wandering around with your mouth open or having a picnic, Yeah!
The Marbles, great place to sit, have a bong or 6 and contemplate nature. And that I always used to do.
Anyways, there's some Palestinian on a thread somewhere who keeps insisting I support the "Zionists". I don't know who they are and don't care. Never bothered to find out. One presumes from this rabid nutter that it is a name for Jews, right?
Anyway he sees my Marbles photo today and immediately uubs it as a religious symbol of the "Zionists".
Do you believe people like that exist in this world? The Marbles have been there since before mankind was created, by Darwin's theories. But to this nutter it's clearly a religious icon.
Fuck me dead and someone please eradicate all in the Middle East would you. And anyone with affiliations to even one of them. They are a pestilence.
