Change of season

Hi there,

Many of us live in areas that have severe cold or hot, or both.

I've lived in each of them and dreaded the bad season, very hot or very cold. I think the cold is worst as it just restricts everything you do and tends to keep you at home, unless you are a Canadian and out of your mind anyway.

I've heard of some locations that, if they have a car, they have to keep it running in a garage full time else it won't start. I would guess that people in these locations have learnt to ski as petrol is too expensive to do that any more.

I live in a semi tropical area of Australia which means winters are mild and summer is maybe two months of heat but not that many really hot days. Yet I still dread the onset of the heat. I've lived places where the heat is 8 months of the year so I guess dreading 2 months means I am acclimatised here at last, after 15 years.

Of course the good thing is it's only short and air conditioning can make it disappear altogether. The cost of that though is going through the roof.

It makes my blood boil to know we could have free electricity if governments took their hands out of other people's pockets and worked for us rather than big business. Australia is the ONLY country in the world going BACKWARDS in producing carbon. Per capita we were already the worst nation on the planet but this current government has been removing anything to do with climate change. Coal is what they want used as we have plenty of it. Makes great economic sense, but, gee, it would be nice to be able to breathe and have low power bills, if any. We have so much sun here we don't need coal. Wind as well in our large and mainly uninhabited country.

Our current government has a Leader who is a straight out looney who should not be where he is. A liability is what he is. Big spending on Defence and stopping refugess. And nothing on Climate Change. He has a policy on that, but I don't think we can even read the find print on that policy. I've been told it says, ignore this policy and make sure coal is mined and used forever. He is also rumoured to have been thrown out of his all male university accomodation for walking around that house totally naked. He also studied to be a priest at the "most effeminate seminary in Australia".

He still carries a grudge about not being picked in the Rugby Union first fifteen at uni and is affected by that fact in his policies. Doesn't matter that he wasn't a good enough player. Oh no.

This man is a complete wombat. Eats, roots and leaves. That refers to our country. That's what he does to it.
