Well, maybe?

Hello all,

I know many of you suffer depression as 25% of humans do and that leads to suicidal thoughts.

I have had it longer than I care to remember but I have spent over a decade helping people on internet web sites and on the Australian Suicide Emergency Hotline.

I am a professional counsellor but do not work any more. I have been stable for the last 7 years and do not suffer those big dips I used to. I learnt how to do that with help. My doc is marvellous and listens and discusses, not orders.

I treat people the same way. If you genuinely want some advice from a long term sufferer, but , better, a long term survivor please contact me and I'll try and help you.

!. There is NO cure for depression so I will not be offering that, else I'd use it, right. I have a great sense of humour but I can also be gentle, kind and very serious as you want/need.

You may think I'm a bastard for all the comments I make but that's not so. I'm always trying to teach people something, regardless of how others read it.

I will not tell you WHAT to do but I can make suggestions about what is good, bad or useless. Except that you will find docs and shrinks and therapists are a MUST.The hardest step for us, the sufferers is actually recognising and accepting it. That took me longer than I care to say. The other thing I will say is that CBT is by far the best "tool" - I hate that description but it is apt. Mind you, you will find that CBT does not work if you are heavily depressed. You need to do the basic things first to lift your mood.

I rejected it myself after 2 training courses but one day suddenly found myself actually doing it. It has been relatively smooth living since that moment.

Total confidentiality of course and naturally I do not know anything about you as you are anonymous on here. SO why wait, here's my free offer. You only tell me what you want to but I will need to probe some areas and you answer or not. I would then give you a general answer that hopefully covers your situation.

By most satisfying thing these days is helping someone else shorten their stay in the land of misery. No one ever helped me until I found my current shrink. We laugh mainly at appointments these days. His measuring my mood you see.

Yes, a repeat post as not one of you people responded at all. That's a huge lie as I know at least 25% of you have it and just love being miserable don't you.

I was suicidal for 6 months 24/7, yes dreamt it too, but I never gave up and now I'm secure.

You lot? It's for life if you do nothing. Enjoy.

By the way, my spelling is correct. The way you spell a number of these words is NOT.
