Would you believe Joe Hockey is begging the ALP to NOT run it's scare campaign against losses in pay and conditions which the Government strongly supports?
He and his government pals want to get rid of penalty rates and make Sunday normal pay rates.
And shift work too.
Does he not know the background to these penalty rates? They were allocated as working those days and times remove people from their families, destroy family life and have considerable health risks associated with working those times.
Changing from day shift to night shift and back destroys the body clock and leads to depression, a clear path to misery so those agreeing to it must get SOMETHING out of it. The effect on families can be devastating. If a parent works the night shift then the family has to be quiet all day so they can sleep. Family breaks into two separate entities and Joe thinks that's fine.

And Abbott, about to drop that thought bubble of rich women's maternity leave under the pretence of "listening".
