Hi Y'all,
It's actually closer to 33% than 25% but I'll stick with the World Health Authority's statements. OK? Not something anyone can dispute I'm afraid.
Just wanted to tell you a bit about what depression does to one. I won't go into the nasty parts. just wanted you to know how often any depressed person will think "Shit I would rather be dead. But I don't want to do it, I want to pass away peacefully in my sleep".
Which is unlikely if you don't have a major illness. I read about so many people who are said to have "died peacefully in their sleep". Frankly, I don't believe that story at all. Some do, sure.
Example? A relative of mine, older, was said to have gone that way. The truth is that he had several falls close together and one night his body just gave up. There was blood everywhere and his wife was horrified, terrified and damned upset and still is.
That ain't dying peacefully. But I do hope that's how I go. I have rejected suicide, 30 years ago now and found that good things keep happening ever since. Another daughter, now 21, just graduated from university and just starting her life. I surprised myself and didn't hold on like a parasite. I encouraged her to spread her wings and go for it. Life.
Just some thoughts for anyone to consider. I might point out too that every single human being that has ever been has also had suicidal thoughts. To many it is just a quick thought, never to be acted on. But it seems that is the human's first thought when things look bad.
