Turnbull and Australian election, US quiet right now.

Hi Y'all,

The front page of today's Australian newspaper has a heading of :

"Turnbull pulls the trigger".

Meaning he is gambling on recalling the Parliament and is determined to bully his Industrial Relations Bill through the Senate. Some IRONY here as the Bill is directly aimed at the union movement and is a result of that long enquiry which revealed some bullying on construction work sites.

Is this not the pot calling the kettle black?

I still can't understand why ALL unions were not scrutinised. What about the Doctors Union. Most importantly, what about the politician's Unions. They are called Political Parties but go unexamined of course.

That enquiry was supposedly aimed at exposing rampant criminality in a certain area of Union activity. I understand it found a possible 100 cases which need to  be referred to the relevant authorities for examination, decision on whether court is needed and then each case must be decided by a jury. Turnbull's Bill seeks to supercede the law and let a new authority decide. But it cannot make decisions on matters of the Law.

I just don't see what he's trying to do. We all know that enquiry was specifically aimed at the Leader of the Opposition with the intention of eliminating that person as a candidate for Prime Minister. In that regard the many millions spent on that enquiry totally failed as nothing against Mr Shorten was found.

So, really Turnbull is pushing a dead horse down the track in a Melbourne Cup. The Senate have already said it will not pass the Bill in the 3 weeks they will be subjected to more and varied threats by Turnbull.

When the "Australian" writes "Turnbull fires the gun", they forgot to write that Turnbull is actually playing Russian Roulette with his and the Coalition's political future.

Already, Tony Abbott, never ever going to snipe at Turnbull, remember, is out of the blocks telling all and sundry that Turnbull is seeking re election on his, Abbott's policies.

I do believe he is right. I have no doubt Abbott will use this to challenge Turnbull right back (haven't we seen this recently). Will Bill Shorten use the line in his speeches and slogans that the Liberals used when they advertised "We are not the Labor Party". Then proceeded to copy exactly the Labor script. I can already hear it. Bill giving speeches and concluding with "We are NOT the Coalition or the Liberal Party."

Tit for tat. Karma always brings things back at one, does it not?

Turnbull is likely to lose seats in the Senate, build a different but maybe stronger cross Bench and also lose seats in the House of Reps.

He could also, lose government, due to his clumsy and bullying methods around OUR voting. I won't be rewarding Turnbull in any way. Still deciding who else to vote for but Malcolm's mob will be last on any voting form I fill in.
