Hi Y'all,
How many of you have ever heard of the Australian group "The Angels"?
From the 80's was when they were at their best. I saw their first gig as the "Keystone Angels". They were booed off stage. Early days, besides which everyone was there waiting for one thing ONLY.
The star act was "Cheech and Chong". So fledging to bad rock didn't cut it. Oh was that a night!! C + C were great, of course they were. After records a live show was fucking magic. Their gig started with Cheech running to the front of the stage with the mike and screaming, long and loud. Then he said "That was for all you who are on acid tonight. I'll wait while you all finish hitting the ground from the top deck, OK?" So funny. Sorry, Dave's not here either!!!
Anyway, the Angel became one of Australia's best, lead singer "Doc Neeson". Brilliant but died last year. So many memories of him, the band and their songs.
They had one called "Am I ever gonna see your face again". No Doc, we ain't.
But the band had started the audience years before giving a response to that line "Am I ever gonna see your face again". They had us trained, it was wonderful stuff. Reacting to the band.
The response we were taught to give to that song was "No way. Get fucked. Fuck off."
You had to be there but if you had been you'd know how magic that song was live.
Get a copy and listen. Rock to burn!!!
