Elections, US and Australia

Hi Y'all,

The upcoming elections in the US and Australia are a very cynical, expensive and bloody awful display of the way politicians treat the people who vote them in.

In the US, only billionaires seem to have any chance and what do they end up with? Looks very much like Clinton vs Trump. The Republicans hate Trump but were happy enough to let him spend his own money to save them the trouble. They've even advertised AGAINST TRUMP, their own candidate. How ridiculous is that?

If they want him to run, which they did, why did they not expect he'd do as well as he has. The possible winning of the Presidency horrifies most people but he continues to get the votes from people whilst the other candidates just drop off like flies.

The GOP is in big trouble as most of them do not want Trump as President. I cannot figure out their thinking but perhaps there wasn't any?

In Australia Malcolm Turnbull is making a complete fool of himself. As of this minute the Upper House, the Senate is still sitting from yesterday morning with the Opposition trying to delay a change to voting procedures which may favour Turnbull's Party. I wouldn't count on it Malcolm, your personal ratings just dropped by 15 points in the poll released a day or two ago.

Frankly, with the stirrings emanating from Tony Abbott I would not be surprised if he challenged Turnbull very soon. If he waits until the election and Turnbull leads and wins there will be no challenge in the future.

They are talking up an early election and it's obvious why. They've read the polls and see now as perhaps his last chance to win, Turnbull that is, for the time being.

Not a thought for the people of course who have no idea when this election may happen. We should have set dates like the US and many other countries so it cannot be manipulated as has happened for over 100 years.
