Do people learn as they grow up, mature and experience different things?
To me the answer is obvious. Of course they do else they would never be able to do anything new or different. Many older people feared computers and refused to touch them initially. Yet, today, more and more are using computers of many varieties. From mobile phone to Desktop PC.
Sure, a lot of those older people monly use a PC for email, but once they have access it's up to them to decide what else they want to learn and use.
I will correct a myth for you right now. Many organisations and Western countries are tending to do more and more on the internet, which is indeed a great money and time saver for all. Yet the fact is that way less than 50% of educated, Western people have internet access. Way less than that have access in other parts of the world.
DO you get that? A lot less than 50% of people even have access, let alone use, the internet.
What happens to those people when things are no longer available to them? Have you tried to use a public phone in the last few years? They are disappearing fast so what happens to people who don't have or use a mobile phone?
The answer is obvious is it not. Those people are excluded and isolated from many things, more by the day. How can they learn if they are cut off by organisations that assume everyone has the internet. They don't. Those organisations are basically saying "Fuck them, get a computer or miss out.". Trouble is they probably can't afford it and couldn't use it without major training. So they CANNOT learn how to be included in essential parts of today's life.
That's just one aspect of not learning. Being left behind and isolated.
What about those that have beliefs handed down through their family? They cannot refuse that learning as they are told the relevant things while very young. They accept it and it is never challenged.
The most obvious example of this is religion. If people do not question the teachings they got they will never be able to analyse what religion is said to be. It's actually bullshit. A God who decides what we are going to do all our lives. Get the fuck out of here.
