2 love songs from the 60's by the "Grass Roots". Ace songs.

Hi,

Here's a couple of songs from the Grass Roots, 60's era, about love really, but still rock.

First "Midnight Confessions"

"The sound of your footsteps
Telling me that you're near
Your soft gentle motion, baby
Brings out the need in me that no-one can hear, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand
There's another before me, you'll never be mine
I'm wasting my time

Staggering through the daytime
Your image on my mind
Passing so close beside you baby
Sometimes the feelings are so hard to hide, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand
There's another before me, you'll never be mine
I'm wasting my time

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
Na na-nana na na na-na
Na na-nana na na na-na"

Written by Lou T Josie. This song also featured in the movie "Jackie Brown".

The second one is "Where were you when I needed you"

" Dont bother cryin, dont bother crawlin
Its all over now, no use in stallin
The love I once felt, I dont feel anymore for you
This time Ill even open the door for you
You walked out when I was down
Well now Im well off
And look whos comin round
Where were you when I needed you
Where were you when I wanted you
Where were you when I needed you
Where..ere...ere
Youre lookin good, its hard to fight it
But no use explainin, Ive already decided
That livin with you, its worse than without you
I wont spend a lifetime a-worryin about you
Oh, things got rough and you disappeared
Now Im back on my feet
But look, look whos standing there
Where were you when I needed you
Where were you when I wanted you
Where were you when I needed you
Where..ere...ere
Oh, you were so young, and you were so wild
I knew you were nobodys innocent child
That first day I saw you, you really got to me
I thought I could change you, what good did it do me
Oh, things got rough and you wouldnt wait
Now youre tripping back
But babe, its too late
Where were you when I needed you
Where were you when I wanted you
Where were you when I needed you
Where..ere...ere"

Authors :  P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, although some of the album features a San Francisco band. Those two were actually "Grass Roots". Sloane has been a very prolific songwriter in his time.,

Enjoy.
