Hospital and recovery

Hi,

I have to say the dedication of many nurses and doctors was integral to me recovering to here.

Night nursing was, bluntly, key every night to a bad night or just OK. I lost all my strength during that 4 weeks, over 2 weeks in ICU, delusional. As such it was critical that I get all help needed. The night staff did not often provide that as the hospitals cut back on staff at night, expecting all patients to be drugged up and out of it.

Not so in my case and I incurred the wrath of many night staff. Each patient has a call button which a nurse should respond to. Often that was not the case and the waiting was interminable and to me, torturous.

A call button MUST be answered promptly else deaths will occur. Isn't it obvious? Making calls only to have the night staff simply turn the call off and shout at you "SHUT UP" is sickening and dangerous as, if the nurse does not pay heed to the patient need then what is the point?

More.
