Hi Y'all,
There's this story I heard today I thought I'd pass on to you. Here 'Tis:
"In a country town there was a flood and it seemed to go on for days and days, neverending.
The water kept climbing and started to creep up walls and houses. It was rising and showed no signs of stopping.
One old guy was stuck in his house but he sat out the front of his house initially. A boat came past and offered to take him to safety.
He said "No thanks, I trust in the Lord to save me. Thanks anyway."
So, the water kept climbing and he had to get up on his roof to keep out of it.
A second boat came past and virtually demanded he get in.
Again, he said, "I appreciate your kind offer but no thanks. I trust in the Lord to save me. But thanks again."
So the water kept rising and he had climbed on to the brick chimney he had and was waist deep in water now.
A helicopter flew past, turned around and came back for him.
When the guy on the rope from the chopper reached him he just smiled and said. " Thanks but I'm OK. The good Lord is looking after me".
They couldn't make him get on the chopper so just left him.
Shortly after the water rose over his head and he drowned.
So he got to heaven and sought God oput and asked him "So, Lord, why didn't you help me?"
God looked at him with contempt and said "I sent you two boats and a chopper and you refused."
