Girl 2

Hi Y'all,

Continued from the previous post. As promised the story of Girl number 2.

And, by the way, I DID actually run out Girl  number one's front door. I really did!

So, Girl 2. Like I told you, for some reason I never had to chase girls, they just arrived and they stayed, if I liked them. There were some like that but it's a bit embarrassing to tell you. See how I go.

Girl 2 was from my last year of High School, when I'd stopped studying and did not want to go to uni. I did matriculate, but just enough so I was eligible for more work. That was just bad luck. Who knew? It wasn't a plan, just happened.

So Girl2. Her name was Elizabeth, Deakin High School in Canberra. She lived nearby but had two different surnames and she varied which one she used. Divorced parents. Liz Kimber was the most common name. I can use her name today.

We hung around for a while, don't remember how we started, just happened, again. She was great looking, about average height to smaller. Blonde hair, sort of dirty blonde really. But real nice to be around. I had no money, no car but I did have a father who was stingy beyond belief. The previous town we came from I used to work after school and Saturday mornings at Woolies. Yay! I had money. I think he thought I must have got a pension from them as he kept his money tight. Blood out of a stone really. He cracked now and again for a very few bucks. Actually gave me $20 when I left home. Was I lucky or what? Way to support your kid!!.

I won a scholarship in 4th year and was the only one to do so. Turned out it was an IQ test but we weren't told. What can I say, I had a great memory and was great at Maths so did well obviously. The scholarship was $500 and back then that was huge!! I used it to educate myself. In drinking and betting on the ponies. So I was short that last year. Eddy Cashun can be expensive!

She had an old holden and she'd come pick me up and we'd go to a pub and have 3 - 4 drinks and much chat. No idea what about really except one thing. She asked me, I was 18 by then and legal at the pub, if I would be her "backdoor man" when she was married. Well I was tempted to say sure straight up but actually had a thought. That thought was "What does back door man" mean, to her?

It could mean several things but I had one nasty thought floating around my head. So I asked her what she meant. She said it meant I'd be her lover after she was married. So of course I said yeah, baby. I had not heard a word about her getting married, her assumption for her future, which was a valid assumption. She was real nice, all round. Lots of hugging and kissing.

We did this stuff for a few months and then she asked if I'd like to come over to her house one Sunday. I said sure. Why not?

So come that Sunday I went over to her place and we sat on the lounge suite chatting, drinks each. Then she said "I'm here alone till late tonight". I expressed my interest in her comment and we carried on chatting.

So school finishes and I head off, travelling and was back in Canberra in 1989. My old class was having a school reunion for 20 years out. I have no idea how they knew I was there, I suspect my sister told someone who told someone, it's called gossip.

My mates had all left Canberra so I had no one to hook up with for protection at that show. So I went alone. Middle of a quite long drinking period, serious drinking, not a few beers shit. If I had a drink, I meant business.

So I walked into the venue with a smile on my face and a buzz on. I mean, beer wasn't the only thing in life was it? Needed a friend now and then surely. So I looked around and recognised a couple of teachers so I avoided them like the plague. Last thing I had planned was hanging around fucking teachers.

I was talking to a couple of guys I had barely known and never talked to back in the day. But it was passing some time.

Just then a woman walked up and tapped me on the arm. I turned and looked. No idea who she was. She asked "Are you Robby Hart?" I said yeah, I was and still was. Her "I thought you were dead." Well this was news for sure. I said "Yeah, I was but then I learnt how to drink."

She stood there trying to figure me out. I could have been slurring a little. Then she said "Do you remember that Sunday you came over to my home, my father's home, back in school days, final year?" I must have been still alert as that told me who she was so I replied "Liz, of course I remember, how are you?"

She said "Married actually." Big smile. A pause while I listened. She said "You know you could have done anything you wanted that Sunday, don't you"? I was still alert as I answered "WHAT? You had a golf course in your backyard and didn't say? Holy shit woman, you must be more specific."

She looked angry and grumped out "I meant sex, anything, got it yet?"

Me "Yes I knew that Liz. But you must know that young men didn't accept invitations to visit for an afternoon as a proposition for unfettered sex.  That, Liz, would have probably been called rape. And what would you have called the kid anyway?" "No, Liz, you have to ask if you want something. I never have. It was up to you."

She gave up and turned her back. Never saw her again. Never will. She thought she'd shock me, poor girl. Shit I'd been living in MY world for 20 years. I was not a novice or stupid.

Reunions?? Only went to one and that was the one. Not a good start huh? Last one for me. I'll have to think about those "other" girls" I mentioned above. I think you'd like one of the stories but I am somewhat ashamed of what happened, or didn't.

Girls and boys

Hi Y'all again,

A tale from the last year of my high school experience in Canberra. Deakin High School it was.

I didn't chase girls, ever. They always seemed to just arrive and they were suddenly my girlfriend, or something of that nature.

Two tales actually. This first one, a girl by the name of Dianne arrived and we hung out together a bit. If any of you have ever seen a comedian by the name of Dov Davidos you'll like this one. At that age I didn't have money so we just used to go out walking really. We did go to a concert in near the city once. I got dropped off and so did she. It was Crispian St Peters. "The Pied Piper" was his big hit. Don't sneer, Canberra didn't get anyone from overseas that often back then and he was BIG world wide for 5 minutes.

Anyways, her father picked her up, but not me. Hell, I liked walking anyway so I did, all the way home. Bloody late when I got there.

So another weekend day I go pick her up from her home and we go walking, around the suburb. That's where Dov is relevant. He had no money and when his girl asked him, where they were going he just said "Further".

And we did, go further. Then she suddenly went white and collapsed. Shit, what to do? I sat with her for a few minutes and she wasn't really coming round so I helped her to stand and then half carried, half walked her home. Got to her front door and knocked. Father answered the door and shouted "What's wrong with her?". I didn't get a chance to answer. Mum appeared, panic stricken and they whisked her away and left me standing there. So, after a while, I left. What was I gonna do.  Grow roots?

So I saw her at school the next week but we didn't talk. I went over to see her on the next Saturday and was greeted and invited in as she had answered the door. Upon entering Daddy got up and shouted at me "What's wrong with you? You bring our girl home and just take off?"

I replied "Excuse me? I brought her home to make sure she was looked after and I did NOT just take off. I waited at the door and finally left as neither of you came back to say anything at all".

He seemed a bit shocked that I had answered him and he just slumped back into his arm chair. Dianne came back and held my hand. We sat down and had a drink, cokes each.

We chatted a bit about nothing much then she said "Would you like to see something special?" My mind starting racing. Her parents were there!. She leaned close and said "Do you want to see my glory box?". Hell I sure did but wasn't keen with parents watching. She pulled me up by hand and walked me over to the corner of the lounge room and said "There it is". I looked at her, puzzled. She had me looking at what seemed to be a chest of some sort.  She said "That's my glory box." Lots of household items filled the box. I'd heard of this. Parents gave girls gifts for their marriage so she wouldn't be unprepared when the time she married came around. I was scared.

Looking at it and her I heard a shrill voice in my head. It was shouting "Run, boy run". LOUD. So I did, I was 17 for fuck's sake. Never went out with her again and she never talked to me again. How to frighten a young man to death!!

Second tale coming next post OK.

Love and marriage

Hi Y'all,

So have you been married? Or want to get married? Let's think about that first. Here's the lyrics to a Frank Sinatra song I'm sure many of you have heard. Note particularly these lines in the song :

.Go together like a horse and carriage. Not terrifically romantic is it?

.Dad was told by mother. You can't have one without the other.

So the song says marriage was ordered by women but I tend to think both sexes see advantages in it. To me many see the act of marriage as a time to relax and stop worrying as you've made a commitment to each other "Till death does you part". Many also let their appearance go, stop having sex (I've got a headache, etc.). But what many do not seem to be able to get through their thick little heads is that when they get married they usually exchange vows to essentially be together for life, regardless.

That is not true by any version of events and, in fact, is often treated more as a temporary contracts rather than lifetime commitments that they have sworn to in front of witnesses.

Many of us also mistake love for lust and lust does wane a lot quicker than love. Many who get married have never felt real love at all, just imagine they have.

I was one such. The marriage lasted 14 years and was a disaster with a nasty finish, destroying lives of many. At least I learnt from that and have never and will never, marry again.

An interesting statistic on marriage is that those who divorce get away still alive while those that go the distance always die. About 50:50% is the latest guess at how many end in either of each. As you can see, I was one of the "fortunate" ones and got away with my life.

Also those who live together as de facto partners for a long time and then marry seem to get divorced a lot quicker than anyone else.

Think about it. Children will be hurt when you make a mistake. You may be such a child yourself, grown to adult. Remember how bad it was? Don't do that to others as yet inborn.

"Frank Sinatra – Love And Marriage Lyrics
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other

Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementary

Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one without the other, "

ATTENTION ALL US CITIZENS

Hi there from Australia y'all.

I'm writing this to say to you that I certainly do not think Trump is or was the right candidate for President of the US. But nor was Hilary, was she.

She got more votes but not in the right States apparently. Yes, it's more than possible it was rigged. After all was it not The Donald who said it was rigged? Yes, it was whilst he was praising Putin who stands accused of hacking Democrat sites and interfering with the US Election. Along with the barrage of fake stories of course.

Mind you many of you have NO RIGHT to complain no matter what as you couldn't be bothered voting could you?

You whine about your electoral system. So do we here in Australia. But does anyone do anything to change all that? No, never, someone else will fix it, right. Well they did fix it according to Trump.  He told you and you didn't listen did you? That makes most of you dummies, done and dusted, doesn't it?

If you want to change the rorts of your current system then guess what? YOU have to change it, not someone else, YOU.

After the dust has started to settle and I've seen the result in perspective I'm going to suggest you try thinking of this fuckup as perhaps a good result.

Looking at the US since the Bush's got in and after 9/11 it seems to me your Presidents have either been weak and stupid (Bushes) or weak and afraid (Obama).

Wait until I've finished before you start cheering for YOUR side OK.

The countries that the US are mainly worried about are China, Russia and North Korea, right? SO who is in charge of those countries? A country that basically owns the US already, loans wise, China, a bully (Russia) and a clown, but a dangerous clown (North Korea.

Right? Follow so far? And you've had weak or stupid people representing you against them. All that's happened is the USA has become relatively weaker than it was as a result of these Presidents.

Now, Trump. I see him as a clown, a bully and a bloody rich arsehole. He is clearly not afraid of those guys in those countries. You should be thankful for that, putting the best spin on it.

You see, because he's all those things those three countries will have no clue how to do with him and the US. How about he threatens North Korea with some REAL Nukes? How about he tells China to fuck off and shut up. And how about he just negates Putin and makes him no danger to you or anyone?

Think about it. North Korea would shit itself if so threatened. They cannot respond and they know the USA has been the ONLY country to use maximum force. Why wouldn't the US do that again? Hmm?

How could Russia or China object to that as they want to do it themselves. Just too scared to say as they are physically closer. Bullies do usually win you know and nothing the last 3 Presidents did achieved a bloody thing did they? Just created more problems. Mainly thanks to George W. But Obama couldn't change it in 8 years. In fact things have spread and become worse during his time. He didn't start it but he couldn't stop it.

You may end up gewtting a good result. Yoiu have to hope that way as he is your ONLY hope for the next 4 years at least.

Think it through. I actually predicted Trump woulod win about 6 months back but I hated saying it as I detest him. But.........................

Julie Bishop. Is she challenging Turnbull?

Hi Y'all,

Don't know if you heard Bishop's speech about a white paper for foreign policy but it ever I heard a speech that says "Make me Prime Minister", that was it.

Poor old Julie, emphasis on the "old", is it 25 terms now as number 2? Or not quite? She's finally realised she's not 13, or even 53 and stopped the mascara mess. Hopefully.

In that speech, she made the same old mistake all politicians make here in Australia. She referred to our political system as a "democracy".

Of course we don't and no country does. Democracy is exactly the same as the theory of every political system. Looks great on paper but add humans and it doesn't work. Read "Animal Farm", George Orwell. Someone always wants to be MORE EQUAL.

Democracy is defined as "government for the people by the people". It's not even close as here, government is run by Parties, not people. Not only that but our country, Australia is actually run by usually old, usually mega rich, usually white and usually men. It's called an oligarchy and those in control never stand for election do they? Has Rupert ever tried that? NO, he runs it from his desk and TV channels. And papers. CEO's at big organisations make up the small group who are actually running it, for themselves of course.

Apparently Julie is unaware of this.

This is insanity.

Australia's financial position worsened yesterday, going backwards by .5%

Amongst his many statements Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbullshit had this to say :

" Yes, this is a wake up call. For the Labor Party."

His government has been in charge for 3.5 years and it's the Opposition's fault?Excuse me ????

His Treasurer, Morrie's Son when talking about it mentioned Labor more times than he did any other word.

Do they dream about their opponents? Mutter away while their wives are hiding their heads under pillows?

So, "Wake up Labor, you must be the government somehow."

As Bill Shorten of Labor pointed out, "How is giving big business tax cuts of $50 billion over 10 years (estimated to boost GDP by 1% by Turnbull Going to achieve anything given we've just gone backwards by half a point in one quarter?"

Turn bullshit and Morrie's son.

Hey Y'all,

Can you believe the fuck up over the back packers tax here in Australia? I still don't believe what a bloody mess these politicians, all Parties have made of a simple matter that should have taken 5 minutes to resolve, not 18 months.

Turn Bullshit and Morrie's son were by far the worst, laziest and most ignorant of all.

All it is in reality is deciding what rate to tax overseas workers at while they work here, in particular, fruit picking. In previous years the rate had been zero as it's a low paying job and nobody works doing it for 12 months of the year. No fruit you see!

But T and M decided for some ungodly reason to make that rate 32.5%. No one in their right mind would work for that money. Low wages less 32% less room and board. Shit, they'd be there for no pay really. So of course the farmers have few to no one to pick their crops this year. Simply because these short sighted bastards didn't think of those that will pay for their laziness. The farmers, and the people who buy fruit. You and me.

A lot of arguing and for some reason T and M decided to reduce that rate to 19.5%. For no particular reason really. You see Canada and New Zealand have a rate of 10.5% so if you were deciding where to go based on a few cents different per dollar you would not choose Australia.

SO one of the Independent Senators suggested 10.5% and the other minor Parties got on board and all agreed on 10.5%. Same as the other countries.

T and M said NO WAY they would drop their rate, and then proceeded to drop it to 15%. Yeah, hypocrisy is NO hurdle for these wankers.

With an afternoon left the Opposition Parties had come up to 13% but the government would NOT move. They were in charge. If nothing changed the rate would default to 32.5% and nobody would go fruit picking they moaned, but still did nothing.

The government has claimed THEY negotiated a final answer but they didn't at all.  At lunchtime the Green's Leader went to THEM and offered to agree with 15% if the Govt came down on the grab of 95% of the worker's superannuation. T and M jumped at that and it was passed.

Labor had offered to negotiate but M's response was "Labor can go jump". That's a true negotiator at work all right.

SO it was passed and now is law. The problem is the government gets less out of this deal than if they had just agreed to 13%. You see they also had to agree to put another $100 million, of OUR money, into land improvement, whatever that is.

So, NO the government did NOT negotiate. Someone had to go to THEM and make an offer.

Yet Paul Kelly, supposedly Australia's top political commentator writes "Turn bullshit has mastered the art of negotiation.

You fucking work it out. It's clear the people affected by this tax matter not at all, it's about their image.

It's not the best to be the bearer of bad tidings but I must inform these politicians, and Paul Kelly, they have maintained their image as ditherer's, ignorant, stubborn morons and nobody you'd ever vote for again.

Turn Bullshit takes the cake though with his statement that Labor wanted to pay these rich backpackers more than Island workers. Even he looked confused when he said it. You see, if these bloody people are rich THEY WOULD NEVER PICK FRUIT. NOR WOULD THEY BE BACK PACKERS. YOU MORON Turn Bullshit.

And the absolute last criteria for deciding where these people would holiday would be fruit picker's tax rates. For fuck's sake you idiots!

They can ALL GO JUMP.
